Coronavirus, like most respiratory viruses can be spread by a droplet (cough/sneeze) and contact with infected surfaces (no details are available on how long it will remain alive on surfaces) so normal precautions apply. Do not touch your face, avoid touching handrails etc in public places, wash your hands thoroughly, avoid public places especially if you have respiratory problems or immune problems such as chemotherapy. Wearing masks may provide some protection, but only where you are in close contact with infected persons.
